Victor Mature from the 1960s Peter Sellers comedy “After the Fox” written by Neil Simon and directed by Vittorio deSica. Sellers played an Italian thief who broke out of prison to steal a shipment of gold… by pretending to make a movie about someone stealing gold so he could get the entire town and even the local police to help his scheme. Mature played an aging movie star whose best days and parts were behind him, but he was useful to Sellers as a big name draw to lend credibility to his plot. Martin Balsam played Mature’s agent who did his best to give the star a reality check.
