Actor Paul Muni, Sept. 22, 1895. A major star in the 1930s, in 22 films & was nominated for the Academy Award 5 times, winning once in 1936. Later returned to the Broadway stage. Battling failing eyesight & a heart disorder, passed in 1967 at the age of 71
