In 1925 Josephine Baker went to Paris with “La Revue Negre.” In 1926 her Folies Bergere act wearing bananas eventually made her one of Europe’s highest paid performers. Called “Black Venus” & “Black Pearl.” She got over 1,000 marriage proposals
