When away from his characters and cameras, Dean was often pictured wearing thick glasses, without which he was essentially blind. People who worked with him often remarked that, without his glasses, he could pass them by without realising who they were - it was only after they would shout to him that he recognised their voices.
Ciro's was a nightclub in West Hollywood, California, at 8433 Sunset Boulevard, on the Sunset Strip, opened in January 1940 by entrepreneur William Wilkerson
