Jackie O

Jacqueline Lee "Jackie" Kennedy Onassis (July 28, 1929 – May 19, 1994)

Became “Jackie O.” On October 20, 1968, Kennedy married Aristotle Onassis—a longtime friend and Greek shipping magnate, who was one of the wealthiest men in the world. While their union was at the time controversial in the American press, it gave Jacqueline the privacy and security she craved. In the seven years they spent together, the couple split their time between Greece, U.S., and Paris. A period of time too that prepared “Jackie O” for her next chapter—working as a book editor in New York.
