The penultimate counter culture film of the 1960's, this road movie follows Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper as bikers traveling the American Southwest. Alongside newcomer Jack Nicholson the trio explore the social issues and tensions in the United States during the 1960s such as the rise and fall of the peace movement, drug use and communal living.
