Aug. 28, 1963 marked the date of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom which would end up being one of the largest political rallies for civil liberties to date. It was the staging ground for several passionate speakers, culminating in the world changing "I Have a Dream"speech by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The march would lead to the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 thus inspiring both the Million Man March and the Selma to Montgomery Marches in 1965.
