Also known as the Tube or the Underground, is a public metro system serving a large part of Greater London. The system serves 270 stations and has 402 kilometres (250 mi) of track. In 2012/13 London Underground carried over 1 billion passengers.
Since the 1970s, photographer Bob Mazzer has been documenting Tube life. Back then Mazzer worked as a film projectionist, a job that saw him traveling home late at night.
It was 1976 when Mazzer purchased a Leica M4 with a 35mm lens that his photography started to blossom. It wasn’t until many years later that Mazzer realized how extensive his collection of underground photos had become.
