Remembering King Kong Starlet, Pauline Wagner

Born in 1910, Pauline Wagner began her career as a glamour girl and small time actress. Pauline caught her break in 1933 while working as a stand in for Fay Wray in the 1933 masterpiece King Kong.   Due to scheduling issues with Fay Wray, Pauline was called upon for reshoots of the climactic showdown atop the Empire State Building. So Pauline donned a blond wig and stepped into cinematic history in what would go on to become one of the most iconic movies in film history. After her break, Pauline would go on to play a number of small roles, however she was never able to reach that peak again, retiring from film in 1941. She went on to live a long fruitful life before passing away on May 2 2014 at the age of 103.
