Nice guys can finish first, Jimmy Stewart is proof positive. The all American actor made an career out of playing self-effacing roles that mirrored his wholesome heritage. After growing up in Indiana, Pennsylvania on farms far from the bright lights of the big city, Stewart attended Princeton in the days when blue blood prevailed over any measure of merit. However, the promising student excelled in several areas of study including architecture and theater. Stewart moved to New York and forged a friendship with the struggling but up-and-coming Henry Fonda – which led to Stewart’s discovery in Broadway. He followed Fonda to California, it was there that he began to pave his own way in both career and clothing.
