It's been rumoured that Ian Fleming was heavily inspired to produce the James Bond character based on Cary Grant's adaptation of Devlin in Hitchcock's "Notorious" in 1946. In the film, Grant plays a government agent and you see him here looking galant and debonair in a tuxedo.
